Shoket Aksi

Community Relations

Shoket has over 20 years of experience working with young people. Shoket is our Project Manager, who dedicated himself to improving the lives of young people. Shoket specialized in Prison Work and was responsible for the rehabilitation of many youths who entered young offender’s institutions. Shoket is known in the community for his big heart and willingness to help all who he can.

Ameer

Ameer Din

Operations Lead

Ameer is an experienced Operations and Project Manager in the technology sector and currently works within the Health and Care sector. Ameer is a qualified counsellor and follows the footsteps of his late father who was a teacher and community role model for many in the community we serve in. Ameer has a passion to help young people to be the best they can be, and he also Co-Founded Urban Youth Project to achieve this goal.

Nadeem Ishaque

Programmes Lead

Nadeem is a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor. Nadeem has worked with young people for over 15 years and as experience in Mental Health, Drugs and Addictions, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Nadeem is a gentleman and prides himself on being the one anyone can come to for help. Nadeem worked with various recognized organizations such as Glasgow University.

Safa

Safa Shoket

Project Development Lead

Safa’s background is in education, after college she started working in nurseries as a Child Development Officer. She has now started gaining her COSCA counselling qualifications to provide youth counselling within this organization. Safa joined this organization when it first started in 2020, she first started as one of our participants and now has progressed to our Youth Project Facilitator.

Maleeha

Maleeha Malik

Project Development Lead

Maleeha is currently undergoing her training to become a qualified counsellor, as her background is in the field of psychology and mental health, where she works apart of the Health Care sector as a Mental Health support worker. While Maleeha does not have much experience working with youth, what she sees is that not that long ago she was a young person who wished there were groups who were open and like that of her background. She is passionate to bring things to BME youths which weren’t as accessible in her time. Which is why she joined our team as a Youth Project Facilitator.

Maryam

Maryam Din

Urban Kids Club Manager

Although Maryam has a Masters in Marketing, she is also an experienced Child Development Officer working within nurseries in Glasgow and East Renfrewshire. Maryam has a passion for helping young children learn, develop and learn new skills and loves the safe space that Urban Youth Project offers.
